Cambodia’s Fisheries Administration at the provincial level (FiAC) has used digital technology for reporting of fishery statistics, since 2023. Detailed information on the capture fisheries and aquaculture production yield and value, by species as well as processing and illegal fishing activities is reported on a weekly basis. Reporting is done using Kobo Toolbox, a digital data-gathering tool, enabling quick and efficient collation and analysis of fisheries data. This system allows to provide a near real-time snapshot of fishing activities across 25 provinces, offering invaluable insights for monitoring and decision-making. This digital approach to reporting, not only streamlines the data collation and processing but also improves the accuracy and timeliness of fishery statistics, crucial for sustainable management and conservation efforts in Cambodia fisheries
